Purpose
The Irish Acupuncture Register (IAR) is a professional register that sets expectations for member conduct and safe practice, and provides a public-facing register for verification.
What we are (and are not)
- We are: a membership register with published standards and processes.
- We are not: a state regulator or a clinical provider.
- We do not: provide medical advice or arrange appointments.
Why standards matter
Standards protect patients, support professional credibility, and help insurers and stakeholders understand what membership signifies.
Clear standards. Proportionate governance. Public assurance.
The Irish Acupuncture Register has been established to provide a professional framework appropriate to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ireland. It exists to support practitioners, protect the public, and ensure standards remain clear, fair, and proportionate.
